There has probably been no other tale ever told that has managed to capture the imagination of children (and adults) as The Lord of the Rings. This epic story contained so many memorable scenes, and it is a world of fantasy that is worth returning to again and again. The Lego Lord of the Rings series allows young people to again experience this magical land, but this time in a completely new way. They get to build some of the most memorable scenes from this adventure, and they then get to recreate some of the most important events. Kids can also completely change the scene and story to create something unique – the only limitation here is the imagination.
There are some wonderful sets in this series from Lego. In The Battle of Helm’s Deep (9474) the box contains 1,368 pieces that can be used to create one of the most important fight scenes that the Fellowship of the Ring. Attack on Weathertop (9472) was another battle where much was at stake. This was where Frodo, Merry, and Aragorn had to combine their wits and courage to protect one of the rings. Probably the most memorable scene from this story was Gandalf Arrives (9469). This is when the wizard first meets Frodo in the story, and it is the birth of the fellowship of the ring. One of the most popular sets is the Mines of Moria (9473) where the members of this gang had to face some of their toughest opponents.
Lego has done a great job of bringing the Lord of the Rings to life. It is possible to enjoy these sets individually or combine them together to create some really impressive scenes. They all come with clear instructions, and they nicely combine the ability to build with the ability to play.
